Reviews

“Melissa Errico is a unique force in the musical life of New York City: a Broadway star, a concert artist and an author who regularly contributes essays to The New York Times. There’s really no one like her!”

Steven Reineke, principal conductor of New York Pops Orchestra at Carnegie Hall

“What can be said about this singing actress that Broadway World has not already said time and again? A true creature of the theatre, one can see the change come over Melissa in that moment before she sings a note, where she drops into the story, the character, and the scene she is playing from any of the musicals represented in this program. Reviving her rendition of WOULDN’T IT BE LOVERLY from the 1993 revival of MY FAIR LADY (joined by4 EVUSA backup boys) was a real treat, and being surprised by the revelation that this was her Carnegie Hall debut made being in the audience even more of a privilege. She soloed only once, in Sondheim’s LOSING MY MIND from FOLLIES. With a gorgeous arrangement by Doug Besterman, Melissa’s performance was another that elicited asingle-word note from our pen-BOOM!” — BroadwayWorld

“Melissa Errico proved, not for the first time, that she’s a consummate interpreter of Sondheim…Errico gave a mesmerizing performance of “Losing My Mind.” – Stage Buddy

“The versatile Tony-nominated Melissa Errico was most delightful in character as My Fair Lady‘s cockney flower girl, Eliza Doolittle (Frederick Loewe, Alan Jay Lerner, arranged by Johnny Green)…she also fiercely tackled that uber-dramatic torch song from Follies (Stephen Sondheim, arranged by Doug Besterman), “Losing My Mind.” – NiteLife Exchange

“But it was her “Losing My Mind” from Sondheim’s Follies that had a lasting effect, beautifully done, with an arrangement by Doug Besterman.” – Theater Pizzazz
