“A reflection on the journey of motherhood-most of the album has a jazzy feel with some pop influences and light tingles of gentle folk music. The songs sway with rhythmic care and gentleness like the rise and fall of calm waves.”

An album about memory and promise. This lullabies recording appeals to anyone who ever wanted a soft bedtime caress and sweet dreams. Inspired by classic songs from gentle folk to sophisticated jazz, Melissa also wrote a song called “Gentle Child.” She also sings an original song by her brother Mike.
Moved by motherhood and wanting to create a unique musical blend of traditional and unusual lullabies, Melissa made the CD in loving tribute to all new mothers and in honor of the many she has met in the magical first years with her three young daughters (while founding a downtown mother’s support group The Bowery Babes in Manhattan now comprised of over a thousand families). May the CD bring peace, a soothing thought, a chance to reflect, and an offering to anyone who might simply want peaceful and evocative dreams tonight.
