In recognition of her contributions to the recovery of the Rockaway coastline in Queens, NY following last year’s devastating  Hurricane Sandy, Melissa will be honored by The Action Center for Eduction & Community Development at a special awards event in October.

On July 15, The Action Center received The Helping Hand Award from Mayor Bloomberg during the 12th Annual Neighborhood Achievement Awards for their assistance to the Rockaway community following Hurricane Sandy.
