On November 18 and 19th, Melissa Errico will return to Joe’s Pub in “Sing The Silence,” an entirely new, autobiographical cabaret show, written with Adam Gopnik, about how one singer’s descent into a hundred days of silence—total vocal rest — compelled her towards an inventory of a lifetime’s experience on stage and off, and to mediate on the role that silence, imposed and chosen, plays in the lives of girls and women.  The set list will include new songs written for Errico by Gopnik and Scott Frankel, as well as standards from the classic American songbook  (Kern, Harburg and Lane, Lerner & Loewe) and modern classics from the ‘new’ American songbook (James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Randy Newman, Sufjan Stevens).  A night about women, secrets and songs, “Sing The Silence” promises to be Errico’s most personal and soulful performance.
