My name Melissa means “honey bee” in Greek (sweet with a sting?), and I grew up wandering the aisles of Manhattan’s legendary Colony Records—that iconic place where sheet music, rare vinyls, and Broadway dreams lived side by side.

So let’s think of this as Melissa’s Colony: a place to come together and share favorite songs, great musicals, hidden film gems, the stories behind the music… and where I can show my appreciation for you and your support of my gypsy life as what I once called, in the New York Times, “the Girl Singer on the Road.”
